The Toronto Catholic District School Board and the Indo-Canadian Women’s Association (ICWA) Edmonton have partnered with the Canadian Foundation for Economic Education (CFEE) to offer a virtual workshop for students in the Summer Transition and Youth Programs offered this summer. This workshop is designed to provide students with a unique experience to explore concepts outlined in CFEE’s ‘Money and Youth’ and other related resources. The workshop will focus on: goals and decision making, planning for the future, banking, saving and the use of credit, budgeting to reach a goal. Content will assist students in making the right decisions during high school to help open doors and opportunities and career considerations including entrepreneurship and the decision making around course selection at high school, the importance of good grades and later transition planning from secondary school to the world of work, or further education and training (including obtaining and paying for post-secondary education). This interactive presentation will provide a toolkit of future planning resources for all participants. There will also be time devoted to the realities of the post COVID-19 world, and a question and answer session following the workshop.

This session will run from 1:00 to 2:30 pm EDT (or 11:00 am-12:30 pm MT for youth from Edmonton).

This workshop will be presented by Kevin Maynard, VP of the Canadian Foundation for Economic Education, and hosted on the Zoom videoconferencing platform. The Q and A session will feature a panel of professionals to provide answers to YOUR questions around financial planning, money management and career exploration.

Students are asked to complete the registration information below, using their school assigned @tcdsb.ca email address, or your own email address if you are from the ICWA in Edmonton.
