Project Overview

At the Heart of Building Futures is a Vision of Improving the Financial Literacy of Canada’s Youth.

The NEW Building Futures in Ontario (BFIO) program incorporates the learning style of CFEE’s highly successful FinLit 101 program and correlates it to the learning outcome expectations for the Grade 9 Math and Grade 10 Careers courses in the province of Ontario. This project will host unique resources with an innovative approach to applied learning that develops students’ skills crucial for future success. Students will be immersed in “real-life scenarios” through video and animation formats that challenge them to apply their knowledge and skills and consider possible actions and decisions.

In Brief

• The Building Futures in Ontario platform includes 30 scenario videos that encourage students to consider “What would you do?”
• The platform features multiple learning strategies, including video scenarios, quizzes, discussion posts, and further learning opportunities.
• Teachers can create a private class space where students can safely engage with one another.
• All content is fully available in both French and English.
