Project Overview

Supporting Saskatchewan Students in Building a Brighter Financial Future

At the heart of Building Futures in Saskatchewan (BFIS) is a commitment to helping educators deliver the best financial literacy education possible. The program directly supports the new mandatory Financial Literacy 10 (FL10) course, ensuring students gain the skills and knowledge needed to make informed financial decisions.

What Does BFIS Offer?

BFIS provides a comprehensive curriculum correlation guide that aligns CFEE’s free financial literacy resources with each learning outcome of the FL10 course. Teachers can easily access recommended modules, page references, and instructional materials to seamlessly integrate financial literacy into their classrooms.

Key Features:

  • Curriculum-Aligned Resources: BFIS connects teachers with CFEE’s top resources, including Money and Youth, Indigenous Peoples’ Money and Youth, FinLit 101, Managing Your Money in Canada, Talk With Our Kids About Money, and Money Laughs.
  • Supports for Instruction: Teacher’s Guides and correlation documents provide structured guidance on incorporating financial literacy concepts into lessons.
  • Indigenous and Cultural Perspectives: The program includes dedicated content that reflects Indigenous teachings and diverse cultural perspectives on financial decision-making.
  • Interactive Learning Tools: Engaging videos, discussion prompts, and self-assessment quizzes help students build financial confidence.
