On Wednesday, November 6, 2024, you are invited to attend a FREE parent workshop organized by CFEE, together with Sir Winston Churchill Secondary School, designed to explore the most important questions challenging youth about money management, and ways that as a parent or caring family member you can help children ages 5 through 18+ approach money matters with confidence and competence. This workshop has been designed to provide a tool kit that parents and other family members can use to help build financial literacy capabilities for kids.

In this workshop, you will learn:

  • About free activity guides, discussion starters and lesson plans you can use easily with kids to learn about the money decisions that they will experience and in ways that are age appropriate using relevant real-life examples as they grow and develop. These resources will help to reinforce some of the work going on in classrooms across Canada to increase financial literacy levels in young people across the country.
  • How to access free online resources around money management, planning for your future, and career exploration for high school kids.
  • The most requested financial information and topics asked about by youth, and the free resources you can use to help address these topics with them.
  • Tips and tricks to help carry these discussions further as your children progress in their life.

This workshop will be presented by Kevin Maynard, VP of the Canadian Foundation for Economic Education.
