Every day, we’re constantly bombarded by marketing efforts from companies looking to get us to part with our money. From social media and targeted banner ads that track what you’ve looked at online, to influencers and ads sprinkled throughout YouTube clips – not to mention traditional media like TV, radio and billboards – everywhere we turn, there’s someone trying to get us to BUY, BUY, BUY!
It can be difficult enough to manage our money without all these outside pressures, which only make it tougher. The more you understand all of these influences however, the better equipped you’ll be to resist them, and control your spending.
In this webinar, we’ll examine different marketing and advertising tactics that aim to influence where and how you spend your money. In taking a closer look at the various ways companies market to us, we’ll also look to make the differentiation between things we actually need, and things we simply want (usually due to advertising!) Being able to identify Needs vs Wants allows us to prioritize and control our spending, save money, and ensure money gets spent on the items that are most important.
We’ll also discuss why it’s crucial to make our children aware of marketing and advertising, as they become young consumers themselves, and how you can start that conversation with them.
