The Canadian Foundation for Economic Education (www.cfee.org), together with IG Wealth Management, has organized a virtual workshop designed to help seniors feel more confident and prepared when discussing their wishes, needs, and goals with their adult children. Drawing on resources from CFEE’s Let’s Talk Money: Seniors Edition, Money and You: Seniors Edition, and Seniors’ Financial Coffee Clubs programs, this session provides practical guidance for navigating important conversations about money, retirement, and future planning.

Our goal for the workshop is to help participants:

• explore personal wishes, values, and priorities for retirement and later life
• develop confidence in communicating openly with family members
• understand general considerations around legal and estate planning
• prepare for conversations about managing finances in retirement
• clarify preferences related to health care, support needs, and end-of-life decisions
• build strategies for approaching sensitive discussions constructively

This workshop provides a high-level overview of financial, legal, and planning concepts for educational purposes only. It will be presented by Kevin Maynard, Vice-President of the Canadian Foundation for Economic Education, and hosted on the Zoom videoconferencing platform.
