The Canadian Foundation for Economic Education (www.cfee.org) together with IG Wealth Management, has organized a series of virtual workshops designed to help seniors develop a better understanding of financial issues relevant and important to them.

This workshop aims to provide tips, tools, and education on how older adults can learn to identify and prepare for fraud and scams.

During the workshop, we will:

• Learn about common frauds and scams targeting older adults
• Develop strategies to keep our money safe
• Recognize common signs of scams
• Understand the role we play in helping protect others from frauds and scams
• Plan ways to check the validity of an opportunity before spending money on it
• Cope with the reality that “it can happen to me”
• Learn how to stay informed in an ever-changing virtual world

This workshop will be presented by Kevin Maynard, Vice-President of the Canadian Foundation for Economic Education, and hosted on the Zoom videoconferencing platform.
