LuBan Stock Pitch Competition
If you are a high school student interested in learning about investing consider the following “Student Led” opportunity, from one of CFEE’s newest collaborators.
Are you a student curious about finance?
Luban is hosting a stock pitch competition on April 5th that teaches students financial skills that are crucial in their future careers, or allows students the chance to experience the basics of a financial career to explore their interests. Luban provides resources, guidelines, and templates that allow students to learn at their own pace. Additionally, applicants can win cash prizes and the opportunity to chat and build connections with our esteemed judges (university students from Wharton, Ivey, and Schulich).
What is a stock pitch competition?
A case competition is a competition where teams analyze a publicly traded company’s stock, develop a buy, sell, or hold recommendation backed by YOUR investment thesis, research, and valuation. This method of presentation for this competition is through slides where you will be given a 10 minute speaking period, 3 of which will be used for Q&A time. The same company will be given to all attendees on April 2nd on our social media @_lubanoffiical, and reintroduced on the introductory date.
Who can apply?
The only prerequisite to apply is you have to be between grades 9-12. Your experience does not matter, as this competition is aiming to introduce and sharpen skills you will use in your future careers.
*More information can be found on our website, where we heavily monitor the contact option for any questions, and can also be found on our application description.
