The Canadian Foundation for Economic Education in partnership with Department of Education of the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador is holding a virtual workshop designed to provide Educators offering the new Career Education Course in Grade 11 with a unique experience designed to illustrate the alignment of the new course to existing CFEE resources and to further explore concepts outlined in CFEE’s ‘Money and Youth’ and other related resources. The workshop will feature resources to support the new Financial Literacy content (Unit 2) in the new course. It will cover goals and decision making, planning for the future, banking, saving and the use of credit, budgeting to reach a goal, careers including entrepreneurship and the decision making around obtaining and paying for post-secondary education, among other key topics and realities of the post COVID19 world. A 30-minute question and answer session will be part of the workshop.
The workshop will include instructions on how to access and use CFEE and other resources easily and effectively.
Please note that the workshop will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon (Newfoundland time). In Labrador, the workshop will be from: 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. (Atlantic time).
This workshop will be presented by Kevin Maynard, VP of the Canadian Foundation for Economic Education, and hosted on the Zoom videoconferencing platform.
