- Help! Managing Your Money on Campus – Living a Financially Healthy Life
The Canadian Foundation for Economic Education (CFEE) has partnered with the University of New Brunswick to offer a series of virtual workshops designed to help improve the financial education and capability of University and College students. The goal of this workshop is to help you develop a healthy attitude towards money. You will learn how to take control of your money by setting goals and budgeting and saving to meet those goals. You will understand the importance of having a plan. You will learn about a simple budgeting process and how to distinguish between needs and wants. This module will help you develop a road map for a healthy financial future by making saving a positive part of your budget.- Date: February 9, 2021

The Canadian Foundation for Economic Education (CFEE) has partnered with the University of New Brunswick to offer a series of virtual workshops designed to help improve the financial education and capability of University and College students. The goal of this workshop is to help you understand Canada’s tax system and how it can impact your financial health. You will learn how Canada’s progressive income tax system works as well as tax reduction strategies including deductions and credits for students. You will also learn how taxes will impact your finances as you start your careers and start making more money and begin buying larger assets like a house or condo. Taxes are a way of life but understanding how they work can help you minimize the impact on your money.- Date: February 16, 2021

- Help! Managing Your Money on Campus – Understanding Personal Income Taxes
The Canadian Foundation for Economic Education (CFEE) has partnered with Vanier College to offer a virtual workshop designed to help improve the financial education and capability of University and College students. Coming out of this workshop you will have a better understanding of how to minimize taxes as a student by being aware of tax deductions/credits, tax efficient government programs and how different sources of investment income are taxed quite differently. You will learn how Canada’s progressive income tax system works as well as how taxes will impact your finances as you start your careers and start making more money. Taxes are a way of life but understanding how they work can lead to a great return on your investment (of time) and help you minimize the impact on your financial well being.

- Help! Managing Your Money on Campus – Borrowing for Books
The Canadian Foundation for Economic Education (CFEE) has partnered with the University of New Brunswick to offer a series of virtual workshops, designed to help improve the financial education and capability of University and College students. The goal of this workshop is to help you understand the various sources of money available to pay for your post-secondary education. From scholarships, grants and bursaries to loans and earned income, there are many ways to raise funds to pay for this investment in your future. However, you have to be careful; it’s easy to fall into the debt trap. This module will help you understand the consequences of having excess debt and the implications of a bad credit rating. You will walk away with a better understanding of how to manage the cost of an education – giving you the confidence to pursue your goals.- Date: February 23, 2021
