The “Help! Managing Your Money on Campus” program offered by the Canadian Foundation for Economic Education (CFEE) is designed to help improve the financial education and capability of University and College students. In short, we want to help you become smarter about money matters so you can make better decisions around things like spending, saving, budgeting, student loans and debt, credit cards and bank accounts, investing and more. Over the next few weeks, CFEE will be offering five FREE “Help! Managing My Money On Campus” virtual workshops – each consisting of a different topic related to money!

The goal of this workshop (The Basics of Investing) is to de-mystify investing. Investing is not a get rich quick scheme, it’s a way of putting your money to work for you! This module is designed to provide the foundational knowledge necessary to begin investing. You will leave the presentation knowledgeable about the benefits and risks of investing. This module covers the differences between saving and investing, how to invest efficiently and keep more of your money, and how to manage investing risk.
