Sareena Hopkins is the Co-Executive Director of the Canadian Career Development Foundation (CCDF). Skilled in policy consultation, research, development and training, Sareena has been instrumental in a wide range of strategic leadership initiatives in Canada and internationally. She led Team Canada at the 2011 International Symposium in Career Development and Public Policy and was lead facilitator in 2015. Sareena has led a number of strategic research initiatives, strengthening the evidence-base to inform policy, practice and future research. A creative author, she has developed innovative career development programs, tools and resources. She is an experienced front-line practitioner, with particular expertise in employment, training and working with marginalized groups (mental health, First Nations, street-involved youth, addictions, immigrants). Sareena is a sought-after speaker and spokesperson for issues related to career education, school-to-work transitions, employment and the labour market. She is founding Chair of the Canadian Council for Career Development (3CD), Director of the Administration Centre for the International Association for Educational and Vocational Guidance (IAEVG) and Past President of the Career Counsellors Chapter of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA). A recognized leader in the field of career development, she was awarded the International Gold Medal for Leadership in Career Development in 2014. Sareena lives in Ottawa with her husband, their daughter and a very rotund cat.
